Individual therapy focuses on one’s history, triggers, relational and thought patterns, and coping skills with cultural sensitivity. I believe that every current issue can be traced back to our history and family pathology.

I utilize Cognitive-behavioral therapy, known as CBT to assist in processing your thoughts to change your behavior and relationships.

Challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors takes vulnerability, accountability and most importantly support. Christian Counseling is offered as well.

YOU MAY BENEFIT FROM INDIVIDUAL THERAPY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:

  • Patterns of unhealthy relationships
  • Recent loss of a love one
  • Feelings of low self-esteem
  • Daily feelings of anxiety and excessive thinking
  • Difficulty finding a place to unload and replenish your mind
  • Feeling unmotivated to complete things that you use to enjoy

Using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, if needed, to explore daily living patterns, friendships, social and academic stressors.

Additionally, we will look at any family conflicts that add to the existing toughness of this development stage called adolescence.

We utilize therapeutic games to initiate and sustain engagement in the therapeutic process to assist in creating a toolbox of effective coping and communication skills.

The end result is to decrease anxiety, depression, negative influences, and isolation in your teenager.

YOUR TEENAGER MAY BENEFIT FROM INDIVIDUAL THERAPY IF THEY EXPERIENCE:

  • Bullying
  • Sudden decline in school grades and participation
  • Being verbally or physically aggressive
  • Experience anxiety or panic attacks
  • Unmotivated to engage in normal activities they once enjoyed

Emotional discord in a relationship is often expressed as dissatisfaction, distance, criticism, or anger. Exploring unconscious roots to the problem is the first step to recovery.

The way we perceived our parent’s relationship and communication style or lack thereof models these specific behaviors.

We then analyze the way in which you communicate with your spouse to learn how to express ourselves respectfully and without blame.

Most important is finding your way back to true love and intimacy through partnership by engaging in exercises that promote closeness and mutual support.

YOU MAY BENEFIT FROM COUPLES THERAPY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:

  • Constant disagreements
  • Feeling misunderstood and unappreciated
  • Difficulty recovering from infidelity
  • Difficulty parenting or dealing with a blended family

A well-functioning family is not defined by the absence of stress or conflict, but by how effectively it handles them as it responds to the developing needs of its members and the changing conditions in its environment.

Utilizing Structural Family therapy, we address the recurrent patterns of interaction that evolves over time and ways in which we can use the family’s strengths to mobilize and sustain change.

YOU MAY BENEFIT FROM FAMILY THERAPY IF THE FAMILY EXPERIENCES:

  • Chaotic home environment
  • Recovery from trauma or loss of a love one
  • An absence of love, fun, and affection
  • Difficulty resolving daily issues
  • A family member has a mental health diagnosis which can impact the entire family system
